Promising Biomarkers in Renal Cell Carcinoma
نویسندگان
چکیده
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) incidence has been increasing in recent years, and it now represents the sixth most common cancer diagnosis men tenth women. Although this is partly due to in-creased detection of incidental small renal masses on unrelated imaging, advanced RCC continues be diagnosed a significant portion patients, with more than 15% presenting distant metasta-ses. Biomarkers can cost-effective tool identify high-risk patients institute appropriate indi-vidualised therapies. While literature field nascent, paper focuses several bi-omarkers that have extensively investigated prognosis RCC, as well predicting its response treatments, particularly newer immuno-oncology drugs.

Molecular biomarkers in advanced renal cell carcinoma.
The availability of agents directly targeting tumorigenic and angiogenic pathways has significantly improved the outcomes of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in recent years. However, all patients eventually become resistant and a substantial percentage experience immediate disease progression with first-line targeted therapy. In addition, patients have variable clinical benefi...
متن کاملPrognostic value of p53 in renal cell carcinoma
Background and Objectives: RCC is one of the most common genitourinary cancers. Accurate prediction of prognosis would be valuable for adjuvant trial design, counseling and effectively scheduling follow up visits. P53 is a tumor suppressor gene that expresses a protein that involved in both cell-cycle ar...
متن کاملSorafenib: a promising new targeted therapy for renal cell carcinoma.
Diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) frequently occurs at advanced stages, severely limiting the success of treatment, and median survival is barely more than a year. Previously, treatment of renal cancer was limited to nephrectomy or immunotherapy (interleukin or interferon-alpha), which was effective in a small subset of patients but often was accompanied by severe side effects. New orally...
متن کاملSerum and Urine Biomarkers for Human Renal Cell Carcinoma
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) diagnosis is mostly achieved incidentally by imaging provided for unrelated clinical reasons. The surgical management of localized tumors has reported excellent results. The therapy of advanced RCC has evolved considerably over recent years with the widespread use of the so-called "targeted therapies." The identification of molecular markers in body fluids (e.g., sera...
